I’m Yoshimitsu Awazu (Yoshimitsu4432 / DY3-thx12-4432), a Tokyo-based guitarist and artist originally from Hyogo, Japan. In 2020, I reconnected with my roots—back to when I first picked up the guitar as a teenager, driven by a deep fascination with hard rock lead tones—and began my solo journey, built around the idea of “singing through the guitar.”

I create everything myself, from songwriting and guitar to arranging, production, mixing, and artwork, shaping a fully independent sound and visual identity.

In 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I formed the remote project DY3-thx12-4432 with Milan-based musician Davide Perico, whom I met online by chance. Together, we produce all of our work independently, including music, visuals, and video content. Beyond DY3, our collaboration spans soundtracks, lo-fi, and game music, and we’ve created over 200 tracks in just a few years.

Earlier in my career, I was a member of camden-lock (1996–1999), recording in London with producer/engineer Ralph Jezer (The Wildhearts), and later performed at Summer Sonic Osaka 2008 as guitarist for NEON GRAVITY.

In 2025, I returned to the stage under my own name for the first time in nearly a decade. My live sets blend material from both my solo work and DY3, and I also perform as a support guitarist for the international tours of my longtime friends’ band, honeydip.
